Trend Up or Down?

Post by oem7110 »

Referring to following image, there is only one big going up bar.
Does anyone have any suggestions on whether the current trend is up or down?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Maybe it depends on how you define a trend and what is current.

if one bar defines it for you, or a series of bars, or a horizontal line, or a sloping line. Maybe its is determined on if you are long or short already......
Suggestion - one bar is irrelevant without context.

I know it's an old thread, but got to agree with the swallow comment above. A trend can't be determined by a single up bar, you need price action, highs / lows etc to tell you where the sentiment is going.. You can catch a range breakout with a single momentum bar, but that is another strategy altogether.
