Getting data from Bloombergs

Hi! I am a new trading blox user. I wish to extract market data from Bloombergs. I have tried to export price data and create text files but it doesn´t seem to work. Do you know if the data is separated with tab or "," only? I have the same format as Trading Blox has described. (Date, Open, High, Low, Close, Volume for equities). I have separed it with ",".
Maybe there is a better way to extract from Bloombergs. Any ideas?
I have also added the stock in the "stockinfo.txt" file.

Regards,
Fredrik

I'd check (1) the file name (2) the data layout & (3) Preferences.

From the latest User's Guide p.120 --

(1) Stocks: The stock files must be named SYMBOL.TXT or SYMBOL.CSV where SYMBOL is the symbol of the stock. For example, a file name for AAPL needs to be AAPL.CSV or AAPL.TXT and the file name for MSFT needs to be MSFT.TXT or MSFT.CSV.

(2) For ASCII format, the files must be comma delimited. Also be sure the dates are in sequential order from earliest date to latest date."

(3) Then I'd go to Preferences and make sure you are pointing to your data directory & rebuild the Dictionary.

If it works, you can go to Portfolio Editor (F2) and "see" your data files.

This file looks fine. If you just delete the stockinfo file for now, Trading Blox will load up all text files and create a market with the symbol "erik" in this case.

Then later you could add back the stockinfo file if you need a stock description or currency, etc.

Also add the stock to a portfolio in order to test with it.

Thanks for your advise. I will have a look at it. Do you know anyone who is using Bloomberg data?
