oem, it all depends on your risk tolerance, if you're conservative you'll put only up to 15% of your equity into stocks, another 15% into Mutual Funds and the rest 65% into bonds(corporate, government etc). and having 5% cash. It doesnt matter if markets move everyday, if you're that type of investo...

I know about Jim Simons and his hedge fund full of phd's, never saw anyone put his fund as rentec though.. Do you have any insights on his trading models? this math wiz seem to crack lots of inefficiencies of the market place

in order to trade a short term system(1-2 days hold) that I've created the backtest shows that the comissions should be as those of the exchange members or its better to be the brokerage house yourslef(when it gets to 1000 contracts a day). Now I understand why such guys as Monroe Trout or Mark Fish...

RR, I wouldn't trade system 2.... return has to be at least 3 times bigger than the DD, so system 2 doesn't qualify for me

finlay, I agree. Its the same thing I've experienced when I was trading my short term system and took short signals in a strong uptrend, that was completely wrong and taught me a good lesson.
