To do custom blox you need the Builder edition. Many people start with the Professional edition since you can drag and drop different entry/exit/portfolio/money/risk blox into a system. It's a great way to get started with this system building backtesting discipline. But to do the custom ranking you...

What I would look for is new settings and preferences in the new version, that might default differently than you expect. The smallest change to any setting in the backadjusting algorythm used for your data will affect your test results in a snowball (snowball down a hill, not thrown) type manner.

If you are using our forex files, or forex files from CSI to do the futures currency conversion, you don't need to check the reverse conversion checkbox.

If you get data from other sources, that may be reversed, you would want to check the box.

Some customers use external text editors to create blox, they are just transparent xml files in their raw form. Setting up the parameters, indicators, and variables would be easier in the TBB editor since it is all just point and click. The code is just text, so that is fine either way. The tough pa...

The TBB blox basic code is comprised of various parameters, indicators, variables, blox, and scripts. You need to create the systems from within TBB, since they are all interconnected to the outerloop of execution.

Barli,

Yes you need continuous contracts generally to trade long moving averages. With a product like CSI UA you can create these files easily, and with a plethora of backadjusting options.

Great point, Sluggo, thanks for that. I keep to the usual US suspects for the benefit of our customers that don't have access to world futures in their CSI subscription. But perhaps your point is that we should do more to encourage our customer base to pay a few extra bucks for the data, and look be...
