Market Price
I have always wondered this. For stocks that are (a) thinly traded and (b) managed by a single Specialist or Market Maker (eg. lots of stocks on Toronto), what determines the market price when the floor gets a market order and there are no orders on the other side or in the limit order book? What pr...

MetaStock Format
Does anyone know where one can find the details of MetaStock's file format? (Eg. the information required to write code to parse it). So many vendors (including TBB) support it, that I assume its readily available, but I couldn't find it on Google...

[moderator edit] Yoyo, CSI's web site has a bunch of so-called technical journals where the founder, Bob Pelletier, talks at length (at GREAT length, some might say) about the approaches and dangers of creating continuous contracts. They are free and you could start there, but be careful, it's a bit...

I just started experimenting with it so I am nowhere near qualified to respond, but I'll give it a shot anyway. For such an incredibly simple system I dont believe you need ANY parameters or indicators. Parameters would be required if you wanted to test different permutations of days - eg. Mon/Wed, ...

Adjusted Prices
This is a line copied from the CL price file that comes with VeriTrader. 19960105, -0.82, -0.61, -0.92, -0.63, 85001, 387329 Now, I realize there's a lot of complicated math that goes into CSI's algorithms, but at the end of the day, isn't this implying that on this day Crude fluctuated by 50%, whic...

CSI: Toronto
Can anyone here testify to the quality of CSI's data for Toronto (the TSX)? I <b>know</b> I've seen regular posts here from someone from there, but I can't recall who it was. CSI themselves said they covered "<b>almost</b> all Toronto stocks".

I'm not going to besmirch TBB in any way shape or form but, well, Corn doesn't have a web site promising that every ear will be sweet and perfect and that Corn 2.0 will have husks made of pure gold. By which I mean to say, personally, I think some hostility towards systems vendors in general might b...

That's good advice, I hope someone from TBB comments, because my mental finger has been hovering over the Buy button for a while now, but I can't quite bring myself to click... Incidentally, having gone through many vendors' web sites in the last couple weeks, without mentioning names, I'd like to c...

Any thoughts on this product, anyone? From their web site, it seems to have quite a different purpose from VT/TBB... an automated stock picker, not a strategy tester. My guess is its biggest flaw is that its probably untestable. An acquaintance swears by it, so I thought I'd run it up the TTS flagpo...

Sorry if I sounded like a prick, I have just seen way too many techno enthusiasts who think nothing of spending weeks architecting the coolest inheritance hierarchy but can't bring themselves to spend 5 minutes understanding the difference between a MA and an EMA. I think the two biggest decisions y...
