Thanks for the kind words.
It was more fun to live through it than to write it.
I do believe that one could get a start the same way again. Markets like oats, corn, orange juice, and even coffee offer similar opportunities today.

..., when does the money become yours ? (equity). When the money is in your account. Example: You start the year with $100,000. At the end of the year, if you have $277,000 in your trading account and $28,500 of it is open equity from a Coffee position, the IRS is going to tax you on all $177k of t...

So if you're running an avg 16 long term trades per month and 6 short term trades per day, does that mean you're in equities as well as futures? Or are you generating that volume of signals from just 80 markets? Yes, but I trade less than 80 markets. I follow the 35 - 40 which are most active, most...

---phoenix--- ....would you mind giving a rough estimate of how many trades you make per year and a ballpark profile of your long term win / loss / scratch ratio? Also, would you say that you see a small number of trades making up for the bulk of your gains (5% of trades accounting for +40% of prof...

I've known Larry Williams for a long time, and bought a few things from him over the last 30 years. And usually found something useful from them. He does trade. Which is a lot more than most purveyors of information do. He has tried out more things with real money than anyone else I know. I remember...

DrHendricks I'm sorry, I didn't see your your question until a minute ago. Quote: I turn low risk ancillary trades into longer term trades whenever possible, increasing my net size in the trend without additional initial risk. Leonardo would you care to illustrate what you mean by this with an exam...

-MCT- I almost hesitate to speak about this way of trading. Feel free to test it. It worked 30 years ago when I started using it and works exactly the same now. You trade about 2 times a year per market with usually 50% or greater winners, about 35% in the market, and high profit factors are the no...

MCT My thoughts about diversification are similar to the turtles. Since I've been trading to make a living primarily, I shoot for 100% years like the great-shelled-ones too. Ask me if I've ever had a 50% drawdown. I trade the two strongest/weakest markets in each of the six market categories....

paris By the way Leonardo, would you say the principles of successful trading (as you see them) are still the same despite all the modernday bells and whistles? Do you still trade the same instruments now that you traded, say, 20 years ago? Perhaps you could throw in your two cents on Trading Psych...

Truth in trading--
c.f.-- I know you did the right thing when you told the unvarnished truth about trading. It does take money, and/or many correctly applied trades to have a reasonable expectation at profiting from trend trading. By being forthcoming about the realities of trend trading, you can only gain in credibil...
