Dividend data

I am looking to use tradingBloxs for a dividend strategy. What data source for this non price data strategy is best with working with TradingBloxs? I have used Thompson/Reuters stuff through the Portfolio123 platform but that platform is quite limited. Any help of suggestions is appreciated. Thanks

Over the years I have made some great profits in the LME. Copper last year was huge. While I trade multiple strategies LME is ceratinly a part of it. Trading can be difficult. Slippage can be large but the markets for me have been profitable enough to put up with it. I am mostly a long term trend fo...

Could you say how you construct this adjusted contract and how you trade with it. Do you begin a new contract data calculation at the time you enter a new position? Or do you mean a perpetual contract which somehow accounts for the carry cost? and "re sets" every 90 days. Finally, is the ...

Another concern. Try not to let your short positions get too close to expiration, seen a few ugly squezes in my trading experiences.

Data - Where is the best place to get it?

I am looking to build a futures database. A pretty inclusive one. I don't use continuous contracts, I need the original full contracts of data like OL200206, OL200207 etc.

Where is the best place to get this?

thanks

I create a perpetual contract that uses the spot and the 3 month forward to create a futures like contract. Not perfrect but better than looking only at say 3month data as you miss the carrying charge. Been trading it for 10 years or more. Its a bit messy but some great trends. Increase your expecte...

Thanks for the reply. I am not against spending the money if Mechanica better meets my needs. If I can do what I need on trading bloxs all the better. I just need to do something. My systems really haven't changed in years and have done reasonably well. I don't change often but certainly want to con...

I appreciate your post. I guess I am wondering where to start. If both can provide what I need I would choose the cheaper one. I am most concerned with testing what I already have created as opposed to creating new stuff. I don't see why I would spend 25k if the trading blocks meets my needs for 3k....

Looking for the right platform

I have been trading for 20 years, primarily on a proprietary pascal based trading platform. That platform for many reasons is no longer viable. I am looking at either Mechanica or Tradingbloxs using continuous contracts in ascii as my data source end of day (o,h,l,c). My main needs are 1. Ability to...
