now that "The current boom in the Prices of Everything" has turned into the "Huge Slide in the Prices of Everything" what do you think now about trading the short side ?

Thank you for brining it to my attention. I have looked at smart quant in the past.

I may look at it, but doubt I will use it. They put some limitations on code distribution. I need to be able to send my software to my trader friends and mentors for testing purposes.

One thing that bugs me, is why most of those tests are always somehow flawed, either in big or little ways.

For example, the test at HumanMetrics asks many questions whose answer cannot be the binary choice that is offered:

You have an excellent point about not writing to the files as often as a regular business application might do with a DB.

I think I should explore all options. However, I do like the simplicity of using text files.

Yes, KISS (Keep it simple, stupid), is a good way to go.
