USD/Brazilian Real - BMF

Post by AFJ Garner »

I don't know whether anyone has looked at this (or indeed the USD /Won on KRX) but the diversification possibilities looked interesting. It seems however to be quite expensive to trade: looks like the commission rate as established by the BMF is 0.20% or around $100 single, $200 RT! And it trades every contract month of the year. Maybe I have misread the details................but I suspect my broker may want to charge me a special rate if I decided to trade this one.

Attached is a summary from a Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) about the ins and outs of trading on the BM&F, from the perspective of a US based trader. After reading it, I decided that life was too short to get enmeshed in this sort of complexity; I'd rather trade red azuki beans and crude palm oil.

What a nightmare. Thank you. And a resounding "no thank you" to the BMF. Life is too short and they too expensive.
