What are people using for brokers and execution for futures trades?

Has anyone had success with all electronic execution systems in futures?

How happy are you with these solutions?

I use a quasi online broker. I may as well call the orders in and he enter them, but it quicker for me to use the electronic interface . As I enter the orders on my computer, they print at his office and he passes them to the executing broker.

I've used electronic and pit based options. It all depends on liquidity and trust (in your brokerage chain if you use pit based futures) so I use whatever most other people use. In some cases the pit is dishonest - most Chicago brokers would point at a number of the NY exchanges as risky and I can attest to the sleeziness of the coffee brokers.

Another issue is that in some cases the electronic future (EYM say) is smaller than the pit traded future (DJ) so you might choose it for that reason. I have also seen extensive discussion on slippage variations between ES and SP and on spikes in ES which dont occur on the pit traded SP.

I use Trading Technologies X-trader connected to LIFFE, Eurex, Globex and ACE. It is simply an incredible platform.

it should be around $700/mo for an X_Trader liscense and around $1500/mo for an X_Trader Pro liscense. The advantage of the pro liscense is that you can use the autospreader.
