Nice catch.
Trading currency futures has a higher risk than trading spot and forwards.

bank trading

the interdealer mkt is between banks it's where the owanda's of the world go to leg out of their positions. Open an account at a top tier bank and the markets they make will be the best offered. it's not for everyone but i once thought that some of the folks on this site were bigger traders than the...

I wonder

I read posts from intelligent sounding people, but I say, trading on owanda or fxcm?? I see these sites as an online casino, if you trade currencies trade the interdealer market. Anything less is unprofessional.

carry

Backtesting long dated currency rolls is easy. The issue is finding the right short-term plug.

This happens in the FX markets all the time. Don't waste time with an online broker. It's good for the guy who has a 100K to trade but if you have any size, open an account with a real bank and trade directly through a dealer. If you must trade on line there's one way to do it and you get much bette...

Taleb...He was my math prof at NYU, big ego, and IMHO he talks a lot.
Has issues with Wall Street salesmen making tons more than PhD professors.

Hmmm....
Interesting response.
You created this forum subject, and when I ask a question, you deny me (all of us) an answer.
I'm sure you have your reasons and I respect them.
Maybe I asked the wrong question....
Would you be willing to discuss anything concerning your short options system?

cool

What kind of historical results does your option machanical system show?
Also, when you back test your theory, do you keep any option perameters fixed? ie. you always sell 1 month options, a set number of contracts perhaps, do you assume liquidity is never an issue.
Thanks,

In my view trading is NOT about fancy mathematics any more than running a business is about knowing tax laws (of course, I am assuming that a basic knowledge of statistics and probability concepts is not considered 'fancy' here). Trading is about trading, you have to have a basic concept of math but...

Bollinger,
I'm not really understanding your point. The whole idea of trading an emerging market currency is to trade it against a stable one. You could trade emerging market crosses, but if say, Brazil is blowing up, why trade it against ARS?
