droskill, usually before important meetings the previous day's range will be very small, traders dont want to take big bets so theres not much activity going on, take a look

hi GENX, its a proprietary study of Mark Fisher, I will bring you a simple example of that. Mark explains about it also in details in his book Logical Trader. He has a system called ACD, its based on this system. ACD uses opening range as a corner stone. Here's the example of being "caught"...

I test using 300k as initial capital, my real account is way smaller than that. I chose 300k for portfolio simulations as some realistic number, since 1 mil$ is something not real to raise at this point of time
