rhc - without throwing the towel in i think all you can do is open multiple accounts, move cash around and cross your fingers. The harsh reality is that unless you have enough money what else are you going to do. I did get caught by MFG, but at least I had learnt and only had a much smaller amount t...

when it comes to tweaking random indicators and numbers - I think you will find for every problem you fix, another rears its head. Everything becomes a trade off between missing out, getting in too early, to late, too big, too small. Most will boil down to what you can live with, makes sense and is ...

there was a cure for the listless, slothful acedia which so often sets in at these troubled times I would willingly and unashamedly try it out! try a walk in the park on a sunny day, a long slow lazy lunch with friends, a visit to an animal sanctuary......or if these fail try bungee jumping, parach...

It's pistols at dawn, and you have a choice: 1. A super lightweight ceramic composite 9mm semi-automatic with a memory foam grip that moulds directly to your hand, underslung flashlight, special tungsten tipped ammo, exquisite jewel inlaid carvings on the barrel. 2. A sawn-off shotgun. depends on w...

Eventhorizon.....I think you nail the issue. It is normal and has always been around for most margining requirements. In the US there are regulations regarding the limitations to the rehypothecation. When it is transferred to the UK, its theoretically unlimited. I always knew rehypothecation goes on...

if working out that you want to protect a certain amount - ie; your balance at a broker, then OTM options may not be the only choice. You just need to be able to protect enough to say - if bankruptcy occurs how do I make X dollars. So you could actually buy far less options that are closer to the mo...

yes...most of it is probably legal....as you sign agreements. Thats why a lot of this may end up getting bogged down in something else. Often the transfer may be legal, the miss selling, or the failure to do something else, or something like mail fraud, or tax evasion will actually be charged. Re In...
