Chris, Have you tested your 1 in 10,000 claim? Perhaps we should take a poll on this forum. We’ll need at least 10,000 (many more would be better) newbies with excellent system design experience, knowledge of the markets, but with no trading experience, and, say, $100,000 of their own money to thr...

My motivation in life... I’m an engineer, so I like to create things. I also enjoy learning about areas that I previously did not know about. I enjoy trying to accomplish feats that many others cannot. I like to be quantitative about my successes (and failures). Now, all I need is a blank canvas.....

You would actually have to think, read, and do work to see the Naked King. Not many of the non-trader type people who I know do all three of the above with respect to money. I'm curious to see how many traders still have money with ye olde skimmers-off-the-top mutual fund Kings. I'd be guessing, but...

Kiwi, could you expand on this?

I'm not familiar with Aberration et al. money management system, so I'm curious to know where the holes in the logic are.

Cheers,

I suppose the shorter term system traders would typically trade more contracts than when it morphs into its longer term Green Hulk. So one would have to either trim down the size (make the position smaller to account for the widened stop) or trade the smaller number in the short term system with sma...

Back to the original thread: Improve Risk:Reward by using different time frames? This actually makes very good sense to me. Think about volatility – volatility is a function of time. Movement per unit time. So why not think about risk in the same way? Most of us likely already do because we link r...

Sell Short is for opening a short position in a shortable stock. You can't short sell futures, you simply "Sell". Hence the dual option for opening a position. When you close a long position, you simply "Sell". THis is why there is only the "Sell" option below the marke...

Bernd, Check out IB's website, you'll find that you trade assets in other currencies on credit. You can increase/decrease the balance by buying lump sums of IDEAL currencies. If you buy US assets, but have no USD you'll borrow the money from IB. If you make a profit when you close out the trade, you...
