it would be nice to see ed talk about trading vs. all this emotional early childhood repressed notional experience stuff. really doesn't add to the whole experience a trader needs to go through to become comfortable with what he's doing and successful, imo. the early seykota stuff from market wizard...

Intra-day bars...

I’ve been considering testing our Blox LTTF strategy using 30 or 60 minute data. Does anyone have a recommendation on where to find this data? I do not need tick or 5 minute or anything like that. 60 minute bars would be sufficient. We currently use an eod feed from Pinnacle. Thanks in advance! Dave

Victor Niederhoffer

On the topic of famous traders who have blogs/faqs/etc, here is a site which has from time to time great tidbits about real-life trading from Victor and submissions from others which are really well written. http://www.dailyspeculations.com/wordpress/. Enjoy.

The random entry/exit tests I have been running recently certainly bolster the conclusion that TF has worked for a long period of time and I suspect it will continue to work. Especially when you throw random portfolios into the mix. AFJ, as usual, you are a searchlight in the rough seas of trading....

Re: Seykota's FAQ

rajiv: "..How the hell does that help in trading????? Completely agree rajivm. Ed would have so much to offer but the obscurity of his answers and the high-and-mightyness of those obfuscated responses don't do anything to advance a trader. Would have been nice if his FAQ was really about trading and...

It would be easy enough to test out the question if $10,000 is enough with which to start trading. Your question can be answered by doing some simple testing. Use $10,000 as your starting test equity and run the system over multiple time frames using a few different parameters. The answer to your qu...

I’m not so sure what we are complaining about or are so worried about. Isn’t this the thing we trend-followers get ‘paid’ for? To sit through times like these? I would assume these sorts of times are one of the scenarios Ed Seykota was referring to in the Whipsaw Song; ‘just file the news....
