Pinnacle data are fine. They seem to have longer historical data. Their continuous contracts are fixed date. It just takes a bit more time to get it set up for Trading Blox and AmiBroker. They don't provide the needed configuration files for TB or AB and their software looks antique (still DOS based...

I just switched from Pinnacle to Norgate and found that they are very easy to set up. I use both TradingBlox and AmiBroker and they have configuration file and script you can use directly to get everything straignt, a great time saver. Their support is very responsive as well (Richard Dale for me).

Thanks to both for your replies.

pinnacledata.com is down

I just subscribed to their data last weekend through tradersstudio but their website has been down since last night.

I have not received the CD yet and want to ask them the status, but have no way to reach them now since the website is down.

Is their data feed still OK last night?

Also, how do you feel about the future viability of Trading Blox? Do you think it is hear to stay? I sure hope so. Of all the platforms I've used and seen over the years, Trading Blox is the best platform for building a realistic trading plan. Trading Blox management also has a plan in place to all...

Re: Benefits of custom software vs. Trading Blox

The only reason I began developing my own software to begin with was because Seykota recommends it on his Trading Tribe website. However, I think he may have been ignorant of Blox at that time, which was in early 2006. His main gripe was that software cannot "simulate interactive portfolios wi...

Amibroker is "Tomasz's software?" Also, the list of Amibroker's features is extensive and seems to match up with most of TB's, but yet it is 1/10 the price. What am I missing? I have been using Amibroker since 4.0 (latest version is 5.2) and seen its features grow very much. It has a very...

ATR based position sizing assumes that you use stop loss which is away from your entry price in the distance of a number (normally 2 to 5) of 15 day ATR average. Divide 1% of your equity by that distance to get the number of lots you would trade. If you don't use stop loss, you may need to based on ...
